Comprehensive Assessments

The range of what we think and do
Is limited by what we fail to notice

                         R. D. Lang

It is inherent in human nature to jump to a solution of what we think we need.  However there are many aspects of ourselves that we are unaware of. We truly cannot see ourselves the way others do and we often are totally unaware of the things we do that are hurting us the most. One way to describe this is that "fish don't know they're wet."

Many times what we think we need is really just adding to the problem. Bottling up stress, working ourselves constantly harder, over focusing on some things and ignoring others, or comforting ourselves with addictive behaviors or substances. If others complain about our behavior we may respond with anger or denial or withdraw inside ourselves or our work.

We do this with good intentions, we all want to succeed, to be happy and avoid pain. But sometimes it just doesn't seem like what we are doing has much hope of helping us have the life we want and we don't know what we could do differently.

A comprehensive assessment is a powerful way to understand what is happening and bring a sense of clarity and reality to your life. With this awareness comes more choice and the ability to start taking action in ways you never realized were possible or necessary. You may feel really understood for the first time.
